Upon That Warm Alert Animal

Owlish brine
in mourning dishes.

Dusky cabbage roses
key the telephone.

Dribbling
tourniquet pearls.

What a cream world.

His papery hands
unloosing gold rings.

My vision of bridges.
Fresco of fog eaters.

Drinking Sparkling Water in the Afterlife

Strangeness, the dog
bark silvering
things.

Furred motel
cups in atriums.
Birded yonder.

The ruined city
horses in scrolls
of burial
           hair.
