The Singularity of a Piece of Light


— at times inside infinity a random photon

will veer into the arc of an orbit and graze
past open fields — returning by unpredictable

but reused paths to the same renewed terrain
it spent itself many a time upon — again at last 

striking a river at the center of its radiance — and


on occasion — even the same identical wet molecule



— if only to divert the traces of its shine aslant

refracting through the facets of the river's current


reflecting — dangling on the scintillation alighting

this time for the first first time tangent to another
singularity — escaping now over a new perimeter


filling the core of dark — the same mote vanishing



again into the simultaneity of its own suffusion
