Editor's Note

Congratulations to Rick Tracy, The Cortland Review's photography editor, for his Winter Feature cover photography, a photo of ice forming at the water source from a mosque in Istanbul where the faithful have been washing their feet on entering the mosque since the 15th century. A fine arts graduate of Montclair State University, Rick has a graphic design background and an interest in unique perspectives on life, and while not a poet, we think his photo is metaphorically a unique perspective on poetry.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, all our editors—Bless them every one— invited teachers, other editors, publishers, conference directors--the poets who, outside their day jobs, work hard for poetry and other poets. These are just some of the talented and dedicated people who serve the art and keep it alive for the rest of us. Obviously we can't feature every one of you who deserves recognition, but these are our 2014 Winter Feature Editor's Picks: Betty Adcock, Robin Behn, Lorna Knowles Blake, Michael Collier, Brendan Constantine, Patrick Donnelly, Robert Fanning, Marta Ferguson, Miranda Field, Rebecca Foust, Jennifer Grotz, Gerry LaFamina, Daniel Lawless, Diane Lockward Cleopatra Mathis, Esther Morgan, Martha Rhodes, Joshua Robbins, J. Allyn Rosser, R.T. Smith, and Allen Strous. Our Contributing Editors and essayists are Chard DeNiord and David Rigsbee, and our fiction contributors are Seth Berner, Chris Hume, Tara Laskowski, and Lana Spendl. Hooray for all of them!

If any one of these poets has contributed to your poetry, take a minute to say thanks, If you've lost track of how to contact them, write to us and we'll forward your letter.
